How to Pick a FIFA/FUT Club Name That Doesn't Get Flagged

EA's filter blocks a lot, here's how to pick a name that clears it and still hits.

FIFA Ultimate Team's content filter is aggressive.

It blocks profanity, most player names, some pop-culture references, and anything that looks like a slur or a URL.

Here's how to pick a name that clears the filter and still projects the identity you want.

Skip explicit language completely

Even creative misspellings get caught.

If your first draft depends on a swear word or a scatological pun, pick something else, EA blocks the obvious replacements too.

Avoid current player names

'Messi's Squad,' 'Ronaldo XI,' 'Haaland FC', all commonly blocked.

Player-name references are the easiest thing for EA's filter to catch.

Use nicknames or move meta references instead: Elastico Elite, Rabona Rebels, our clever soccer team names list has plenty.

Wordplay and mode-specific jokes clear

'Rage Quit FC,' 'Pack Luck FC,' 'Bronze Ballers', these all clear the filter because they're jokes about the mode itself, not about players or profanity.

They also age well through FIFA versions.

Real club puns are usually safe

'Real Madridiculous,' 'Bayer Neverlusen,' 'Ajaxident', mispronounced pro clubs generally clear because they're not the real name.

But EA occasionally flags them, so have a backup ready.

Length matters for the scoreboard

FIFA truncates long names in the pre-match scoreboard and in FUT Champions leaderboards.

Keep it under 15 characters if possible, you can browse our full FIFA/FUT club names for a curated shortlist that clears both the filter and the character limit.
